Course Description

The aim of the course is for students to understand the interaction of plant and animal organisms with their natural environment and the ways in which humans intervene and influence this relationship. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to identify the environmental factors affecting agricultural production, distinguish between the forms of solar and terrestrial radiation and describe the processes of temperature variation in the natural environment, explain the importance of the greenhouse effect and the ozone layer for the existence of life on planet Earth and propose effective measures to protect crops from adverse weather conditions with emphasis on tropicalization techniques.
